University of British Columbia Mastercard Scholarship Program 2025-26: The Mastercard Foundation and the University of British Columbia (UBC) working together in developing the next generation of African leaders.Talented youth from Sub-Saharan Africa can apply for scholarships through the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, a global initiative, to pursue higher education. The program’s objectives are to cultivate the next generation of leaders and inspire them to take an active role in their communities.Over 171 scholars were supported by the UBC Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program during its initial phase. In its second phase, the program will provide access to a top-notch education at UBC for 351 academically outstanding young people from Sub-Saharan Africa. After graduating, these scholars will use what they’ve learned and experienced to drive social and economic development throughout Africa.
