Eligibility Criteria of Scholarship

a. The applicant must be enrolled in a recognized Indian school in Classes VI through IX.
b. There should be a Philately Club at the candidate’s school, and the candidate needs to participate actively in the club.
c. Students who have their own Philately Deposit Account will also be taken into consideration if the school does not have a Philately Club.
d. The applicant needs to have a solid academic background, with their most recent final academic score of at least 60% or an equivalent grade/grade point. Candidates who belong to SC or ST will receive a 5% grade relaxation.

How to apply?
Deen Dayal Scholarship Apply Online:
- Download the Application Form: The Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana application must be downloaded by the applicant.
- Fill out the form: The applicant needs to attach the necessary documents and complete all the essential fields on the application form. If required, self-attest the documents.
- Submit the Application: The completed application form and the necessary paperwork should be enclosed and sent to the relevant Regional Head or Divisional Head by registered mail, expedited mail, or in person.
Note: Applications may be submitted by schools on behalf of their students. All interested candidates’ applications may be submitted by hand or by mail in one envelope to the head or person in control of the school.
Additional Procedures:
- Quiz Philately: A Philately Quiz will be held at each Postal Circle.
- Project Assessment: The candidate’s Philately Project will be assessed by a circle-level committee made up of prominent philatelists and postal officials.
- Selection and Payment: The recipients will be chosen by each Postal Circle, and the list of recipients will be sent to IPPB/POSB for scholarship payment.
- Set Up Account: The winners must open a joint account at a Post Office Savings Bank or India Post Payment Bank branch that provides basic banking services with their parents.
Instruction of Students to Complete the Application:
- Every column needs to be filled out.
- Fill out the application using a ballpoint pen in either blue or black ink.
- All text needs to be typed in block letters.
- Applications that are not complete will not be accepted.
- Include two current passport-sized color photographs. One needs to be attached to the application and properly certified by the school head. For the Hall permit to be issued, the other must be attached separately.

- Please sign your full name in cursive (block letters and initials are not accepted).

Deen Dayal SPARSH YOJNA Application Form 2024 Submission:
Students must apply to the Superintendent or Senior Superintendent of the Postal Division where their school is located in order to take the Level I written exam. Applications must be sent via fast post or registered mail. The Deen Dayal Scholarship last date is September 4, 2024, for online application. Applications submitted by hand, using private courier, regular mail, or after this date will not be accepted.
Renewability:
The scholarship is given out for a whole year. If a student satisfies all further eligibility requirements, they are eligible to reapply for the award in the subsequent year.
Selection Criteria
There will be two stages in the Post Office scholarship selection process:
Level I: Written Test
There will be 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) on the following topics in the quiz. There is no negative marking; each question is worth one mark. Only students in the same class will compete against each other. An hour will be allotted for the exam.

Level II: Philately Project
students will only compete against their peers. 40 students from each class, subject to availability, will be chosen to compete in the Level II Philately Project based on how well they performed on the Level I quiz. The project should not exceed 500 words, which is divided into 4 or 5 pages. There shouldn’t be more than 16 stamps displayed, either actual or scanned photos.
Deadline of Deen Dayal Sparsh Yojana
The last date for submission of application is September 04, 2024 for the Deen Dayal Sparsh Yojna. Applications for written exam that is Level 1 should be submit to the superintendent/ postal division superintendent where the school of the student is by the process of speed post or registered post.
