ASU Merit Scholarship Renewal Requirements

To maintain and renew your ASU merit scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Credit Hours: Complete a minimum of 30 ASU credit hours during the academic year by the end of each spring semester.
2. GPA Requirement: Maintain a minimum cumulative ASU GPA of 3.00. Refer to the semester criteria for additional details.
3. Continuous Enrollment: Remain continuously enrolled at ASU throughout the academic year.

Any break in enrollment without an approved deferment from the scholarship office will result in the loss of your scholarship. For more details, refer to the Leave of Absence/Scholarship Deferment section below.

ASU Merit Scholarship

Arizona State University (ASU) offers several merit-based scholarships, including: 

• New American University National Scholar: This award is for National Merit Finalists and is worth $16,000 per year. It can be renewed for three years, for a total of $64,000 over four years. To receive the award, you must select ASU as your first-choice institution with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation by May 1, 2024. 
• President’s Award and Provost’s Award: These scholarships are worth $12,000 to $15,000. 
• Academic Achievement Award, Dean’s Award, and University Award: These scholarships are worth $3,000 to $10,000. 

• Other scholarships at ASU include: Leadership Scholarship Program, Arizona Academic Decathlon Finalist and Top Score, RaiseMe, and ASU Flinn Semi-Finalist Award.
