The DBT-RA Program aims to train and nurture young researchers and scientists in advanced fields of biology and biotechnology. Its goal is to develop a skilled workforce and strengthen the postdoctoral research base to support the growth of the biotechnology sector in India.

Eligibility Criteria/Qualifications:
- Academic Qualifications:
- Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Science or Engineering, or an M.D./M.S. degree in any medical field, focusing on Biotechnology or Life Sciences, and must have a strong academic record. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D./M.D./M.S. thesis but have not yet been awarded the degree may also apply. If selected, they will receive a reduced fellowship until they complete the required degree.
- Age Limit:
- The upper age limit is 40 years for male candidates and 45 years for female candidates as of the application deadline.
- Employment Status:
- Candidates currently employed, whether in a permanent or contractual position, are eligible to apply. However, they must resign from their employment to accept the fellowship if selected.
Job Description
The Associateship is a temporary, full-time position with an initial tenure of two years, subject to annual renewal based on the evaluation of research progress. In exceptional cases, the fellowship may be extended for up to four years, depending on the research outcomes.

How to Apply?
Applications for the DBT-RA Program must be submitted online only. Each applicant is allowed to submit one (1) application. If multiple applications are submitted, all entries will be disqualified.
To apply, visit the DBT-RA Online Portal at https://ra.dbtindia.gov.in or https://fellowships.gov.in.
Applicants must register on the portal, complete the online application form, and submit it before the deadline. The form requires details such as:

Required Documents (to be uploaded as self-attested PDFs):

Referee Information:
- Applicants must provide the names and contact details of referees in the application.
- Upon submission, an email with a link will be sent to the referees to upload their recommendation letters.
- Referees must submit their letters by 03rd January 2025 (5:00 PM). Late submissions will not be accepted.
Only applications submitted through the DBT-RA Online Portal will be considered valid.
